Yesterday was eventful and a new day has already begun. I’m sitting in front of my laptop again drinking my morning latte and listening to Moppi coughing – he’s been permanently struggling with this irritating cough here in Sri Lanka since he arrived, which is also a reason to leave the island anytime soon. Although we do not really long for German everyday reality, but the tropics are too strenuous for a long time and we need a more moderate climate and a different culture. We will rather like Georgia there, especially since we have already had good experiences there. In part it is still pleasantly old-fashioned and down-to-earth, as I like it. A former Soviet Republic known and loved for its cognac and tobacco in the USSR! A certain Iosseb Djughashvili also came from there, who was a comrade in combat of Lenin and responsible for the rough – e.g. B. for pre-revolutionary bank robberies on behalf of the party! This man later became a “great” politician with very bloody hands: Stalin! But I wander off and call myself to order: yesterday, when I met a new comrade for our NGO “Safe-Terra-Titanic” and for a good two hours, I was able to have an intensive conversation with the man I estimate in my early forties. He has lived in Qatar for 15 years, originally also studied computer science, is fluent in English and Arabic, is Muslim and a bright head! Exactly right for our NGO in SPE. His name is Muhammed and he earns his money from PickMe as a driver, when he’s not currently working as a tour guide in Sri Lanka. PickMe is such an Uber-style local app, but better and cheaper than Uber. Wherever the Amis have their commercial fingers in it, it’s getting expensive fast. We had booked a mini van via PickMe to pick up things we had stored there at a far away location. This is how I got to know Muhammed, who this morning also went to a meeting with Nalin, the other good spirit of the future NGO. Whether I will succeed with my modest means (I will finance the NGO and a few other things) is on another page. The main thing, however, is the comrades, who will operate independently and “actively”. Brainstorming will be part of the daily business, such as networking and much more. First of all, it’s about NGOs at embassies etc. to make it known, but first the website www.save-terra-titanic.art has to be filled with content. An experiment that is challenging to dare, a dare like real life, so a beautiful task – don’t you just love to live!? I also explained the name Mohammed (a stupid word, but spot on! ):
The RMS Titanic was known to be a famous English passenger “steamer” (back then they still drove with water steam! ), which with its sister ship Olympic were considered to be the two largest ships in the world and at the same time unsinkable (because of the multi-chamber structure). The RMS ship Titanic was considered a technical marvel of modern times and was therefore a symbol of the same, with a three-class crew on board, where the upper deck of the first class contained incredible luxury that those below the mid-deck could only dream of. The last were emigrants to the promised land, who would arrive at Ellis Island – but first-class passengers should be able to enter New York without problems. We know that everything came completely different and namely, the passengers of the third class recognized much earlier that their ship Titanic, known as unsinkable, was already sinking on its maiden voyage. Since on ships that were considered unsinkable at the time, lifeboats were seen more than decorative and rather indispensable accessories, of course there were far too few of them! Which was also very significant: In the first class, the boarder orchestra was still playing in the first class restaurant, where champagne and wine were celebrated, when the Titanic was already in a tilt! The relationship between the famous RMS Titanic and the NGO “Safe-Terra-Titanic” should be easy to understand:
“Terra” means in Latin soil or land and on Terra Titanic, there is still a three-class world! In the third grade for example many island countries like Maldives, Palau etc. has long had to be recognized: we will suck and the first class world cares very little about this fact – except for a few small coins and nice lip confessions, these rich people from the highly praised “developed countries” have little to nothing for the fate of all those for whose fatal fate they are are de facto responsible. De jure, but these countries and first-class companies with their expensive lawyers refuse any responsibility and are not forced to make any aid payments. These handouts exist only on the basis of voluntary work and unfortunately, the NGO in spe will hope to be able to finance it for the time being. But I am hopeful, the provision of destiny will send them a founder in the future who will put the NGO’s leaf and its financial destiny on strong feet! The kids are running around here all the time, it’s not easy for me to focus on this text, but so far I’ve managed to write what’s important to me. I’m excited about our meeting today with Nalin and Mohammed. Only one more person is missing to fill all the founding positions of the NGO. But he or better a “she” will also appear soon, I am full of confidence! However, in spite of an increasingly precarious world situation, man must not let his confidence be robbed, even if in many things “the drops have already sucked”, without confidence life becomes meaningless! In this sense, I wish you a good day from a tropical distance to a rich and not very lively (German) country…
